WHY ARE YOU RUNNING? is a visual and experimental travel diary by French-Guadeloupean artist Kenny Dunkan.

Invited by Criollo in 2023 to a one-month research residency in Guadeloupe, along with producer and curator Simon Gérard, Kenny spent his days exploringâ not for the places themselves, but for the hidden spaces lodged within them. A challenging stay, in short: how to select, choose, sort? When to stop digging into the landscape? A procession of ants carrying large leaves, a street parade, the sounds of fauna and flora, the forest at his doorstep, the botanical garden a few minutes awayâ ¦ It is too much, everywhere, too vividly abundant. No background, no foregroundâ â justâ one interconnected whole.
