These pictures of people on motor scooters, many on their way to or from work, were shot through the window of a moving car on a two-day trip from the Aceh highlands to Medan, the capital of North Sumatra. Motor scooters, sometimes used to carry whole families, provide Indonesians with an affordable form of mobility and have become a permanent fixture of daily traffic and everyday life on the archipelago.
